A Fresh Start

I haven't blogged on this blog for over a year now, I have been blogging as its a huge hobby of mine however just not on here.

I've been feeling rather motivated to start blogging again as it was something I enjoyed, something I read recently really inspired me. I felt when I first wrote this blog I was defiantly doing it for the wrong reasons which is why I stopped plus the lack of motivation. But what I read really inspired me. What I really learnt was 'write what your passionate about' and I feel I got the wrong idea when I first ever heard it but now I truly understand what it means.

I shouldn't have to feel like I need to take a picture for every blog post I do, I should write what I want and if people want to read it then so it be it! But this is my little space to write my thoughts and feelings - whether that's beauty, fashion or even just life in general.

For this rambly (is that a word?) post but I felt I needed to explain myself (for those who actually still read this blog)

Christmas Tag

Merry Christmas! 9 days till Christmas! Zoe and Joe Sugg did the Christmas tag about two years ago. I wanted to do a Christmasy blog but I still haven't found my battery charger so I thought I would do this tag!

 1. When do you start getting excited about Christmas?
Probably just after Halloween. After Halloween I go Christmas crazy!

2. Do you still have advent calendars?

Of course, you are never too old to have an advent calendar

3. What are your favourite Christmas Films?

This is a real tricky one, so I'm going to say a few:
The Grinch
Elf (Which I'm currently watching right now)
The Santa Clause 1-3

4. Do you have any funny Christmas memories?

Not that I can remember at the top of my head.. All my Christmas memories are great.

5. Talk us through your typical Christmas Day?

Wake up, go downstairs - in pj's of course - wait for everyone to come down. Open the presents. Eat a turkey sandwich which would of just come out of the oven. Watch Christmas movies. Eat. Watch more movies. Watch Doctor who of course and any other Christmas specials! Then go to sleep after watching another film.

6. What do you eat for Christmas Dinner?
A roast with the addition of turkey and pigs in blankets - my favourite part of the meal.

7. Do you have any Christmas traditions?

Eating a turkey sandwich for breakfast

8. Which are your favourite Christmas songs?

Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin' Stevens (Fun Fact, I've actually met him)
Fairy tale of New York
If you haven't seen Gary Barlow and Dawn French sing this then I'll link the video at the end of this blog. Gary Barlow's voice is perfection and Dawn French is hilarious.

9. What is the best Christmas present you ever received?
I've loved all my presents, its too hard to choose. I always get amazing presents.

10.Real or fake christmas tree?

Fake :( I really want to get a real one.

Clarins Wonder Mascara Review

I've been loving the Clarins wonder perfect mascara recently. I was just sorting my makeup when I found this. I chucked it in my 'everday makeup bag'. I then used it the next day and fell in love with it. The reason why its small is because it was a freebie from Clarins. The actual packaging for the bigger mascara looks a lot different to this one. I think this may go on my Christmas wishlist as I've fallen in love with it and I'm not sure when its going to run out. Unfortunately I have very light coloured eye lashes and they don't stand out either. So I always looks for a mascara that's going to keep my eyelashes looking long throughout the day. This one does. On the website it promises to have a long hold throughout the day which it certainty does. As you can see below this was the result of the mascara. I know it  isn't applied perfectly but I quickly applied it to show you all what it looks like on.

I have the shade 01 which is black but I think they also offer brown and blue too. This product is a very expensive buy: costing an incredible £21 but I think its an amazing mascara that's really worth its money. I'm not an expert on mascaras, but by far this is one of the best mascaras I have used.

While I was taking the pictures my dog - Bailey - decided to roll around and get a few snaps! I thought I would show you as he looks so adorable.

Avon True Colour Eye Shadow Quad Review

Hi everyone! I know I said I wouldn't be posting until after my exams but I just found this post I did a little while ago. I hope you enjoy!

I was looking in the AVON catalogue and spotted something called 'true colour eyeshadow quad'. It caught my eye as it was a little compact that had 4 different colours with numbers on it. The numbers are for the order in which you put them on and where. So I ordered the colour 'mocha latte' which is a very neutral compact.

On the back of the box it told you where to put each eye shadow. It's really easy to follow and I thought it would be a really good product to get someone if they are just starting to get into makeup. This was only £6 which I thought was quite reasonable. I think this is such a good idea and would defiantly purchase more. The only fault I have with this product is that the eye shadows don't last the whole day. When you first apply them, the colour is amazing, but throughout the day, the colour slowly fades. I might use the urban decay primer potion and see if that helps but that is the only fault I have with it. Overall I would rate this product 3/5 as it's such a good idea for beginners and is so easy to use however it doesn't last the whole day which lets it down.

The Beauty Blogger Tag!

Today I'm doing the beauty blogger tag, I hope you enjoy!

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I started this blog in July however I didn't really properly start blogging until August as it was the summer holidays and I had quite a lot of spare time. I've always seen lots of blogs that I loved. I wanted to started a youtube channel originally but I'm not confident enough to so I decided to start a blog instead.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
I read zoella's blog all the time and sprinkleofglitter's but they weren't actually the people who actually inspired me to start an account. It was actually Evangeline Young Blog. Her blog is so pretty, like sprinkleofglitter and zoella's blog.

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?
Probably baby lips? I wanted to try it anyway but there was so many good reviews and what not I was obviously going to try it out.

What are you five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?
1) I just enjoy writing about things I love and telling other people
2) That people actually read it, even though I haven't got thousands of followers, I know that 3,000+ people have read my blog which is amazing!
3) The comments, I don't get a lot but when I do, I always smile. I love getting comments as I feel someone's actually read and appreciated my blog
I can't actually think of anymore. I love blogging a lot and would consider it a hobby, I love beauty and I love writing!

What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger?
I'm still learning new things about blogging, and I wouldn't say I actually know a lot about blogging still. I've learnt how to lay out my posts a lot better. Well I hope I have?

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
Just be yourself, that's all I can say. Don't copy someone else's blog. You can get inspiration but copying someone else is just boring. Be yourself, and make your blog how you want it. Not what you think people will like, you never know a lot of people may actually fall in love with your blog and actually prefer it to other blogs.

What are your top 5 makeup brands?
1) Boujouis - I love there foundation and lip products.
2) Barry M - its cheap and sells good quality makeup
3) MAC - even though it's incredibly expensive, I do love loads of their products
4) MUA - its a really cheap brand and their makeup is quite good quality for the cost
5) Maybelline - A LOT of my makeup is from Maybelline. I've never tried a different mascara other than there's. I just love Maybelline products!

Recommend your top 5 beauty products..
1) Bourjois Healthy mix serum
2) Bourjois colour boost
3) Maybelline one by one
4) Revlon Lip Butter
5) Naked pallet

I hope you enjoyed this quick little blog. If you have any ideas on future posts please let me know!

If any of you have a blog, please let me know in the comments, I would love to find some other blogs and maybe make a few friends via my blog. It would be great to have some blogging friends!

Topshop Wishlist #2

So I did a Topshop wishlist over a month ago and decided to do another one as I've spotted a few things in Topshop that I would love to get.

Autumn is finally here so I'm getting out all my knitted wear, not that it was really put away for long as the English weather is ridiculous.

Knitted Chunky Boucle Jumper

I saw this really cute grey/white jumper that I thought was really sweet so I added it to my wishlist. It looks super cosy and would be perfect for autumn and winter. The only downfall on this jumper is it costs £42! Which is ridiculously priced. I do think its cute though but I guess it will be on my wishlist forever...

Knitted Mix Stitch Jumper

I then saw this bright pink jumper! It's shockingly pink but absolutely gorgeous. It is rather bright but why can't you have some brights in your autumn wardrobe? A bit of colour to this horrible weather might cheer me up! This jumper is a little cheaper than the other jumper, costing £36

Petite Heart Print Shirt

The next thing that spotted my eye was in the petite section. Its a really cute heart shirt. I like my shirts and think this is adorable and would look great with a white baggy cardigan. It costs £32 but I like it so much I think I might go and buy it.

Burnout Tee

I love the burnout t-shirts, even though they cost £16 but I do wear them all the time and they are incredibly comfy. They now have these tee's in green so I will defiantly be purchasing this green one. This is a great colour for autumn, plus it's one of my favourite colours!

Boxy Silk Shirt by Boutique

This is a really cute see-threw top in a light pink shade. I would have to wear a vest top under this but I think this top would look really nice tucked into some disco pants or high waisted jeans. This shirt cost a whopping £65! I know for a fact New Look do a cheaper version of these tops, so I might go back to New Look and get the green one I spotted last time.
 Gala Floral Jacket by Goldie

I think this is a super cute blazer and I just fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I know its quite summery but I love it. This jacket is £56!! Which is really expensive however I have fallen in love with it..

Contrast Collar Dress

I thought this dress would look really nice with a pair of tights for autumn and winter months, complimented with a nice bright jacket would look cute too. I think I'm going to have to search all the Topshop's near me to find this as I want this so bad. This dress costs £46 but LOOK AT IT.. isn't it beautiful?!?

MOTO Bleach Acid MOM jeans

MOM jeans have been a massive hype recently and I really want to try a pair on, so I think I will soon. MOM jeans cost £40. I am defiantly going to try a pair on when I go to Topshop next.
MESSENGER Pin stud boots

I don't usually like nor look at the topshop shoes but I saw these boots and they really caught my eye. I think they are super cute and would be great for autumn. These boots cost £38
Basket Stitch Snood

Autumn is here and you have to wear scarfs. I saw this dark red snood and loved it. I used to have one like this very similar but I have seemed to miss place it. I have matching gloves and a hat so that's a little bit disappointing, so I might go out and buy this if I can't find my old one soon, I'd rather not though as it does cost £16

Peonies Backpack

I love this and think the pattern really catches your eye. I do need a new backpack and this would be perfect. The pockets look a lot better on this then my other one so that's a positive. The only negative about this beautiful purple flowery backpack is that it costs £38

Pink Glitter Circle stud earrings

Aren't they beautiful? I know its quite hard to tell that they are earrings but they are and I think they are really cute too. They cost £4.50 which I think is quite a good price. They are quite dressy so they would look perfect for a night out or party.

Silver Knot Ring

I do like to wear rings and I thought this would be a perfect edition to the millions of rings I already own. The ring costs the same as the earrings (£4.50)

So this is the end of my Topshop wishlist! My 13 items came to a gasping £434
Thank goodness I didn't buy all of it! This is why most of these items will forever be on my wishlist.

Thank you for reading this post, there will be a beauty post real soon, so look out for that!

Ask Megan #2

So this was originally was meant to be posted yesterday but I forgot about it as I had my first day back to school.

Anyways I asked my instagram followers to ask me some questions which is what they did, so here we go!

1) What was the first makeup product you brought? - elliesworld_
I can't remember as I did start getting into makeup quite a long time ago. But it was probably a
lipgloss

2) Celebrity crush? - missblondie_
this is tuff as there are so many good looking celebrities but I would have to say Niall Horan.

3) If you could have one piece of makeup for the rest of your life what would it be? - libby_rose_
Probably mascara as my skin is quite clear from spots luckily. Mascara also makes your eyes look nicer and not all squashed (not sure if that's the right word to use)

4) All time favourite product? - olivia_Hassan
Probably mascara, I wear it everyday

5) How long have you had your instagram? - percypigz
I do have an instagram that I use still which has 5k+ but I think I've had meganslittleworld for a month and a bit

6) If you were to own any shop which shop would it be? - charleyc_xox
I don't know, this is quite hard. I do like Topshop however I don't like everything they sell. I love superdrug as I shop in there all the time. So maybe superdrug so I could have beauty products and stuff? But then again maybe Boots as high end brands can be sold there.

7) What do you think about one direction? -holynarry
I love them.. how can you not?

8) What shops would you recommend going to? - holynarry
I would defiantly recommend going to Superdrug or Boots if you are looking for beauty products or perfumes. Clothing wise, New Look is great if you want nice clothes for a reasonable price. Topshop is also one that I would recommend going too.
The designers I would recommend would be Jack Wills as I love their stuff and MAC as I am a fan. I also quite like benefit too.
And if you are looking for a bargain, I would defiantly recommend going to primark as they are selling some really nice bits at the moment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have any questions for a future 'ask megan' then ask in the comments below.
I know there wasn't a ton of questions but I didn't choose all of them to include as I didn't want to bore you!

If you have ideas for future posts let me know in the comments below as it does help! Thank you x
